Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance expands UK offering

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) announcing two new policies for the UK market.

The first is Professional First Financial Institutions Civil Liability Insurance, which protects firms from potentially costly claims arising from the performance of or failure to perform professional services.

They are also launching an Executive First Financial Institutions D&O Liability Insurance, which is designed to offer protection relating to activities of a firm’s directors and officers.

Lykke recieves investment from Hanwha Systems

London and Zug based cryptocoin trading platform Lykke have completed their venture funding round, closing at an undisclosed amount. Hiring is expected across the board as the firm develops their services and scales their team using this funding.

Curve hires former CEO of payments regulator as advisor

Banking platform Curve has appointed Hannah Nixon to advise on their regulatory activities and relationships. Nixon previously served as the first CEO of the UK’s payments industry regulator.
“Hannah’s remarkable experience working with some of the most respected regulatory organisations in the world is a huge asset to the Curve team,” said Shachar Bialick, Curve’s CEO. “Curve is continuously innovating and constantly pushing the boundaries of payments models and for that we needed someone of the highest calibre to guide our regulatory strategy as we scale our operation throughout Europe and the US,” he added.
