Expansion Watch – Insight For Recruitment
Here at Talent Ticker, we’re all about prediction. We’re always on the lookout for indications that a company is making changes when it comes to their staff, and nothing is more indicative of change than when a company announces they’re expanding. Whether they’ve just moved to a flashy, larger office, or whether they’re funnelling money into developing a specific team, an expanding company is a recruiting company. And a recruiting company is your best friend.
With the start of 2020 just behind us, these are the companies who haven’t let a little New Year’s hangover slow them down. Here are three of the companies making the biggest growth moves from the past two weeks.
Bishop Fleming looks to double their headcount with new Bristol office
Accountancy and advisory firm Bishop Fleming have announced they are moving their Bristol staff to a new office with enough space to double their current headcount of around 370. The new Bristol office, located on Temple Back, will become the biggest of their seven-office network and marks their second office move in the last 12 months.
Currently located in Queen Square, the Bristol team cover Audit, Accounts, Tax, VAT, Payroll, Restructuring, and Corporate Finance. With aims for such a large staff increase, they’ll also be looking for office and IT support staff, to keep the great ship Bishop Fleming sailing smoothly.
Our AI has given this lead a score of 87, as they don’t give any sort of deadline by which they want to hire their hundreds of new staff. A specific date for the office move this year hasn’t been given either, so uncertainty pulls this score down a little.
Gala Technology to create 50 new jobs with merchant solutions expansion
After a year of growth and awards, Gala Technology, a Rotherham-based firm offering cloud payments solutions, are looking to grow even more. They’ve announced that they’re looking to strengthen their merchant solutions through industry partnerships and a whole lot of new jobs.
Gala Technology are planning on creating as many as 50 UK-wide roles to support their endeavours. The company only mention their Rotherham office on their website, so we won’t know exactly where they’re looking until they start advertising the jobs. We predict that they will be looking for Technology and Software Development staff to start building out their solutions capabilities, and Sales and Business Development to get those products out there. As the firm continues to grow, they’ll also be needing back-office support staff to aid all of their new employees.
With such a clear expansion plan, our AI has given this lead a score of 87. They’re definitely hiring, but since the new roles may be spread across 2020, it’s just below 90s territory.
Clearcover to double product, engineering, and data team headcounts following Series C funding
Another headcount-doubling story, this time across the pond. Chicago-based Clearcover offers car insurance with a tech-savvy, API-first approach. Following a $50 million Series C funding round announced this month, they’ve now announced plans to become even savvier and double the headcounts of their product, engineering, and data teams.
With around 50 staff spread across these teams, that’s at least another 50 roles in these areas. Alongside the more general roles that will come with general expansion, Clearcover have also announced that they are looking to expand into even more states, so keep an eye out for further roles popping up outside of Chicago.
Our AI has scored this lead at 97 because Clearcover are making real money moves. With somewhat-defined expansion plans and $50 million in funding to support them, you can expect a lot of new roles over time.
